Hongkong Prize
The Hong Kong Jockey Club announced today that they are increasing the bonus incentives available to trainers as part of an initiative to promote racehorse development. A HK$1 million top-up will be provided for Class Three races won by trainers; runners-up and third placers in each class will now receive HK$100,000 and HK$50,000 respectively; additionally, winning trainers in Longines International Jockeys’ Championship races will receive an incentive payment of HK$200,000 from them as part of this initiative.
Additionally, the Club will increase prize money for class one, two and three races of 1,600m to 2,000m distance, with maximum prizes reaching HK$10 million per race – providing more owners an incentive to enter their horses into these classes that contribute significantly to our racing experience.
It has been seven years since the Prize was created to reward outstanding students who excel both academically and extracurricularly. This annual award has received widespread acclaim by both public and media audiences alike; providing students an outstanding platform to display their talent.
The LUI Che Woo Prize aims to encourage young people to explore Hong Kong’s rich history, setting a standard of excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate studies of local history while raising awareness of its legacy.
Since its inaugural event, the Prize has recognized 78 works for their contributions to Hong Kong film industry. This year’s awards received an unprecedented number of nominations from across Hong Kong territory and entries in each category; feature films, short films and documentaries were among those with nominations, while film editing earned highest accolades from voters.
The Hong Kong Journalists’ Association (HKJA) would like to congratulate all of this year’s winners of HKFA and look forward to receiving more entries next year. The Hong Kong Judges Association’s judging process features peer review and an expert panel, all members of HKJA with extensive professional experience in their fields of expertise. Only original articles (such as prospective or retrospective clinical studies, observational studies, epidemiological research studies, basic science research studies or meta-analyses published in the Hong Kong Journal of Anesthesia during the previous year are eligible for consideration. Articles submitted for peer-review, letters to the editor or reviews do not qualify for consideration in the Hong Kong Film Award (HKFA), with prizes reserved by the judging panel in case works deemed unsuitable for competition not being awarded any awards at all.
